Lectures are produced by USW staff, but you study these materials remotely at Cardiff City House of Sport with us, built to offer a variety of exciting career paths within the football industry. You will spend a minimum of five days per year at the University of South Wales High Performance Centre at the USW Sport Park during these Residential Visits.
All lectures, seminars, and tutorials are delivered through the online learning platform, in a supportive environment.
Smaller classrooms allow for more personalised learning to take place. Our tutors are able to dedicate a great deal of support to each student.
Alongside the academic element of the course, students will complete up to 200 hours of voluntary coaching within the community, working with Cardiff City FC Foundation and Cardiff City FC Academy staff.
This course allows you to study for a third year to achieve a full Bachelor level qualification.
On this degree, you’ll have the opportunity to develop specific business specialisms, which can be applied to the sport industry, such as marketing, event planning, finance/accounting and human resource management.
You’re also assigned a Cardiff City FC Foundation Mentor who facilitates your learning and supports the organisation of your weekly placement.
A key part of this degree is the increased amount of placement hours you will experience. You will undertake 4-8 hours per week in year 1 and 7-14 hours per week in years 2 and 3. These experiences will mainly be working within the remit of Cardiff City FC and will give you practical experience of working within the sports business and management industry.
You may also get a wider experience through opportunities via Cardiff City FC's sponsors and partners.
At the Open Evening, we will also discuss fees and funding, kit and UCAS support. Get in touch with us below to register your interest, or to have a chat with us about the degree course!
