SAVE THE DATE: Community Foundation Futsal Trials
We’re hosting trials for the Community Foundation’s futsal squad at Ocean Park Arena, giving young people in Years 11–13 the opportunity to study while representing Cardiff City FC.
January can be tough, but football has the power to lift spirits. That’s why we’re proud to support Scan to Smile, a new EFL initiative designed to spread positivity and showcase the incredible work happening in our community.
How it works:
Look out for QR codes around the stadium. Each scan unlocks a short, uplifting story from someone whose life has been transformed through the support of our Club charity.
From improving mental health and tackling loneliness to boosting education, confidence, and employability, these stories show that football’s impact goes far beyond the pitch.
Why it matters:
Every season, EFL Clubs engage over 1 million people and generate more than £1 billion in social value. Behind those numbers are real people, real challenges, and real change and Scan to Smile gives you the chance to see that impact first-hand.
Join us:
At the Stockport fixture, take a moment to scan, smile, and celebrate the power of football in our community.
Nathan, a learner on the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation says the project gave him purpose and helped him improve my confidence."
Trevor Birch, Chief Executive at the EFL said:
“Scan to Smile is about harnessing the power of football to lift spirits and share real stories of hope. Behind every Club are people whose lives have been positively changed through the work and dedication of their local EFL Club charity. This initiative gives supporters the chance to see that impact firsthand and reminds us that football truly is a force for good.”
