The NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Sport & Activity is a unique course where students can further their passion for sport.
We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and supportive environment so that our students can thrive, providing students with an insight into the practicalities of the sports industry, in a non-traditional learning environment.
Our passionate tutors work closely with each student to understand their needs and support their progression to university or employment. We nurture students’ ambitions through mentoring, sharing our expertise, and arranging relevant work experience within the sports industry.
Students also benefit from a range of extracurricular opportunities, including volunteering with Cardiff City Football Club and completing FAW Level 1 coaching qualifications.
Theoretical lessons cover a wide range of subjects, including Anatomy and Physiology, Coaching for Performance and Fitness Testing.
As part of the course, students will be offered the chance to complete Essential Skills Wales qualifications and re-sit Maths and English GCSEs.
This qualification is equivalent to three A-levels and provides the entry requirements for most major Universities.
One of the most unique aspects of our further education provision is that our student's time is split between theory and practical learning.
Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game, the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a side format of the game.
We boast 3 modern Futsal courts where our students represent the Bluebirds in the Association of Colleges Futsal League and the FAW Futsal League. Female students are also able to represent Cardiff & Vale College through their Girls Football Academy.
