Dave’s Story
As David's career progressed, fitness began to take a back seat. Now semi-retired, he felt ready to take the next step in his fitness journey. FIT Bluebirds proved to be the perfect solution, offering a fun, social environment alongside a structured approach to fitness and wellbeing.
Holly's Story
Holly had found high school challenging and overwhelming, but her tutor Mathew worked closely to find an activity that suit her strengths and to help boost her concentration.
Ahmed’s Story
Ahmed, an eight-year-old at St Paul’s Primary School with cerebral palsy, is proving disability isn’t a barrier to football. Thanks to the sessions, he and his classmates now play inclusively and enjoy every game together.
Alys' Story
After the pandemic, Alys struggled with severe anxiety that made leaving the house a major challenge. Today, she attends classes regularly and enjoys girls’ futsal, something she once thought impossible after years of isolation from her peers.
Evan's Story
Traditional school settings hadn’t worked for Evan, but since joining the Junior Apprenticeship programme and developing a close bond with his Foundation mentor, his outlook on education has now changed.
Henry's Story
From Cardiff City fan to dedicated youth worker, Henry has grown into a proud ambassador for the Foundation’s work—supported every step of the way by our Further and Higher Education programmes.
Kian & Kiera's Story
For Brother and Sister, Kian and Kiera, football has always been more than just a game—it has been a constant thread weaving through their family life. Thanks to Cardiff City FC, they both found their ideal educational pathway through Cardiff City FC Community Foundation.
Darren's Story
Through Darren's passion for community, he's single handedly built a sense of belonging, purpose, and togetherness at Merthyr Kicks, creating a true family atmosphere. The site has flourished under his leadership, growing the site into a highly engaged session, week on week.
Sarok and Wareen's Story
Sarok and Wareen, siblings who arrived in the UK from Iraq in October 2024, struggled to adjust to their new school. Through regular football sessions, they gained confidence, developed a sense of belonging, and are now more actively participating in their learning.
Owen’s Story
Diagnosed with a serious heart condition, Owen couldn’t participate in any physical activity for seven months. With support from tutors and coaches, he regained his fitness and confidence after surgery and passed his first year of the Level 3 Sport course.
Grace's story
In high school, Grace struggled with motivation to engage in her subjects and complete her work, resulting in a lack of routine and low self-esteem. Seeking a different path, Grace saw the Community Foundation as an opportunity to blend her love of football with her studies.
Empowering Women Through Fit Bluebirds
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation teamed up with Women Connect First to offer a women’s-only Fit Bluebirds session, providing a safe space for participants to get fit and support each other on their health journeys.
