The Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development gives learners the chance to study a two-year course in collaboration with the University of South Wales and EFL in the Community.

The Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development offers a variety of exciting career paths within the football industry.

We work closely with our partners, the University of South Wales and EFL in the Community to ensure that you have the very best learning experience.

All lectures, seminars, and tutorials are delivered through the online learning platform, in a supportive environment.

Smaller classrooms allow for more personalised learning to take place. Our tutors are able to dedicate a great deal of support to each student.

This course allows you to study for a third year to achieve a full Bachelor level qualification.

CONTENT

When studying the Foundation Degree in Football Coaching, you can expect a comprehensive and engaging programme that equips you with the skills and knowledge to excel in the football industry. The course covers vital aspects of children’s and youth coaching, football development, social inclusion, and sports management, preparing you for a wide range of career paths.

You’ll also have the opportunity to achieve the FA Level 1 and 2 Awards in Coaching Football, enhancing your credentials and practical expertise. This dynamic blend of academic study and hands-on experience ensures you’re well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities in football coaching and beyond

Learn, Lead & Coach

Alongside the academic elements of the course, students will have the unique opportunity to gain practical experience through up to 200 hours of voluntary coaching within the community. Working closely with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation and Cardiff City FC Academy staff, students will develop essential skills in real-world environments, delivering coaching sessions and engaging with diverse groups.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 160 UCAS points
  • Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Three A*-C grades at GCSE, including English and maths

Places are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.

Costs

The course costs students £9,250 per academic year; however, this cost is covered by student finance.
