Armed Forces Veterans Hub
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation has teamed up with the Veterans Foundation to create the Armed Forces Veterans Hub.
Walking football is an adapted version of Football and is predominantly aimed at those aged 50 and over, although there is often flexibility to this for those with conditions that restrict their mobility. Very simply, it is football without the running!
Walking Football allows people who have loved the sport all their lives to once again safely get back to playing and also introduces the sport to people who perhaps have never considered playing before.
The sport has specific rules that outlaw running on or off the ball, physical contact between players, playing the ball over head height and the use of indirect free kicks to ensure that the sport is played safely with full consideration to the age of participants.
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation works in partnership with Cardiff City Walking Football Club to support walking football, acting as advisors and as a referral point for Cardiff City Walking Football Club, although they operate and are constituted independently of Cardiff City FC Community Foundation.
