Celebrating Our Young People at CAVC Sports Awards 2026
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation students have continued to excel throughout 2025-26, with their hard work and dedication recognised by both staff and peers.
Cardiff City FC's official charity is proud to recognise the incredible generosity of the PW7 Foundation, which has made a £10,000 donation to support their work transforming lives through sport, education and community programmes across South Wales.
The PW7 Foundation was established in memory of Peter Whittingham to continue his legacy by supporting causes close to his heart. The Foundation is dedicated to creating lasting impact by funding projects that improve the lives of young people through sport, wellbeing and education — values Peter championed throughout his career at Cardiff City FC.
Independent analysis shows that every £1 invested in Cardiff City FC Community Foundation generates approximately £19 of social value through improved health, education and community outcomes. A donation of £10,000 has the potential to create up to £190,000 of social impact across South Wales.
In real terms, support like this funds a range of initiatives across South Wales, from community youth work, to targeted education and employability programmes, health and wellbeing sessions, and inclusive activities that bring communities together through the power of football.
Zac Lyndon Jones, Director of the Community Foundation, said:
"We are incredibly grateful to the PW7 Foundation for their ongoing support and commitment to making a difference. Peter Whittingham was an inspiration to so many, and through the PW7 Foundation his legacy continues to change lives. This generous donation will help us reach more young people, deliver more programmes and ensure that Peter's impact continues to be felt across the communities he cared about.
On behalf of everyone at the Community Foundation, we extend our sincere thanks to the PW7 Foundation for helping us continue this vital work and honour the legacy of one of Cardiff City's greatest players."
James Whittingham, Founder of PW7 Foundation, said:
"We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, whose work aligns so closely with the values Peter held dear. This latest £10,000 donation reflects our commitment to ensuring young people have the opportunities, support and inspiration they deserve. The Community Foundation’s impact is extraordinary, and we’re honoured that the PW7 Foundation can play a small part in helping them change lives for the better.”
