Cardiff City FC Community Foundation is thrilled receive support from IKEA Cardiff to create a dedicated wellbeing room for our students. This generous support from IKEA has transformed an unloved space into a calming, peaceful environment where students can study and receive one-to-one mentoring, greatly enhancing their overall wellbeing.
IKEA's commitment to our mission of changing lives and transforming communities is evident through their donation of furniture and accessories to create a welcoming and functional space for our students. Their support is a testament to the shared values of both organisations in developing strong and lasting community connections.
Asa Fermandell, Market and Sustainability Manager at IKEA Cardiff said, “As a humanistic, values-driven company, we want to create a positive impact across our value chain and beyond. This includes supporting the neighbourhoods where we operate and where our co-workers and customers live. Our vision is to help create a better everyday life for many people. When we first received the request from Cardiff City FC Community Foundation it was their purpose and values instantly resonated with me. It was our pleasure to be support this project by transforming the existing space and creating an inspiring and welcoming environment – A big thank you to my incredible and talents team who helped made the project possible”
TOGETHER, WE'RE CHANGING THE GAME.
"We are incredibly grateful to IKEA for their generosity. The new Wellbeing Room will be a sanctuary for our students, providing them with a peaceful place to focus on their studies and receive the guidance they need. This space will make a significant difference in their time in college with us."
In addition to IKEA's invaluable support, we would like to extend our thanks to Ian and the team at Colour Centre Cardiff West for their generous contribution of paint and painting materials. Their donation has allowed us to prepare the room with calming, neutral tones, creating an ideal atmosphere for learning and personal growth.
We also acknowledge the hard work of Willis Construction, whose staff members volunteered their time to paint the room in preparation for IKEA's makeover. Their continued support and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this project to life.
Together, with the support of IKEA, Colour Centre Cardiff West, and Willis Construction, we are creating a nurturing environment that will positively impact the wellbeing of our students.
