Local young people to represent Cardiff City FC Community Foundation in Premier League Kicks Cup
07 Tachwedd 2022
In the lead up to Remembrance Day, Cardiff City FC Foundation are collaborating with the Veterans Foundation to continue our support Veterans and Ex-Armed Forces personnel through our Positive Pathways project and Veterans Hub at Cardiff City Stadium.
Our Positive Pathways and Veterans Hub initiatives use the power of Cardiff City FC to support Veterans and Ex-Armed Forces personnel in Cardiff and the surrounding areas to reduce isolation, loneliness and improve physical and mental wellbeing.
There are currently over 20,000 Veterans living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan and its widely reported that transitioning into civilian life after leaving the Services can be difficult.
Through support from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, we’ve worked with over 80 Veterans in the last 12 months through our in-person and online sessions – tackling social isolation and loneliness through regular catch-ups at Cardiff City Stadium, day trips and physical activity.

Speaking on the new partnership, The Foundation’s Head of Community Development, Zac Lyndon-Jones said:
“It is great to have the Veterans Foundation able to support us with the employment of a Veteran’s Support Officer to enable us to continue delivering initiatives to support Veterans and Ex-Armed Forces personnel.
“Our work with veterans has a huge impact on reducing social isolation, improving mental wellbeing and creating a sense of belonging amongst the community.”
