SAVE THE DATE: Community Foundation Futsal Trials
We’re hosting trials for the Community Foundation’s futsal squad at Ocean Park Arena, giving young people in Years 11–13 the opportunity to study while representing Cardiff City FC.
During the month of April, many of our beneficiaries and partners will be celebrating Ramadan – the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation and Show Racism the Red Card Wales – in partnership with Football Welcomes and the Football Association of Wales – co-hosted an Iftar celebration at Cardiff City Stadium to share experiences and celebrate diversity.
The first event of its kind, guests on the evening included young people and their families from the areas we work in throughout Premier League Kicks programme – as well as members of the Foundation team who are also celebrating the Holy month.
Everyone in attendance also heard about the important work being carried out by Show Racism the Red Card Wales, Amnesty’s Football Welcomes project, the FAW and the official charity of Cardiff City FC.
Cardiff City first team manager Steve Morison was also in attendance, taking part in a Q&A with guests before learning more about Ramadan itself from Abdul Azim Ahmed from the Muslim Council for Wales.

“We are very proud to be able to co-host this event at Cardiff City Stadium, the first of its kind, bringing people together to share experiences and celebrate diversity.
“Cardiff has a rich multi-cultural heritage, something that makes it such a wonderful place to live and work.
“Thanks to Show Racism the Red Card Wales and all the speakers for sharing their thoughts and ideas.”
