Cardiff City FC Community Foundation Celebrates Record Year of Impact at Cardiff City Stadium

01 Hydref 2026

On 30th September, Cardiff City FC Community Foundation gathered at the home of the Bluebirds to host their Annual Impact Celebration Event. This special event was an opportunity to reflect on another year of meaningful impact, as they continue their journey to Change Lives and Transform Communities.

The event coincides with the launch of their 2025-26 Impact Report, showcasing the breadth of their work and the partnerships that have made their work possible - generating over £66 million across the last two seasons.

Hosted by Andrew Jenkins, Welsh Traitors Legend and motivational speaker – the event shared powerful stories from people who have experienced the Community Foundation’s impact first-hand. Their stories highlighted the powerful role that Cardiff City FC’s official charity plays in improving health and wellbeing, supporting learning and skills, and building stronger communities.

From former player Roger Gibbins' experience working on the expansion of the 1927 Club, supported by the Premier League Foundation and PFA, to collaborating with dedicated partners such as The BUSY Group to give secondary-aged children another chance at education, and hearing from families about how the Community Foundation's disability football programme has brought them closer to both the Club and each other – every panellist shared a story of positive change and growth across our programmes in South Wales.

Last season, more than 17,700 participants engaged with their programmes across seven local authorities, making it their biggest year of impact yet.

None of this would be possible without their incredible charity partners, funders, supporters and delivery partners. Their support has helped Cardiff City FC Community Foundation reach more people and make a lasting impact, both on and off the pitch.

The Community Foundation looks forward to continuing its growth and expansion, enabling them to deliver and tailor these much-needed services and projects to even more children, young people, and families across the region who need them most.

Zac Lyndon-Jones, CEO at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, reflected:

“This event has been a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the people behind our work and hear first-hand about the difference our programmes are making. The numbers tell an important story, but behind every number is a person, a relationship and a moment that matters.

We’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the last year, but our focus now is on creating even more of those moments — for more children, young people, families and communities across South Wales.

Speaking at the event, Ken Choo, Cardiff City FC Executive Director & CEO, said:

“Hearing from our Community Foundation’s beneficiaries in Cardiff this morning really brings home the impact that our Club is having on the people in our local communities. I’d like to thank the Community Foundation’s staff for their continued effort and congratulate the beneficiaries on their progress. It was a pleasure meeting you.”
