Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club, is delighted to announce the appointment of Zac Lyndon-Jones as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 May 2026.
Zac brings more than 15 years of experience within the Community Foundation, having progressed through a range of coaching and leadership roles during his time with the organisation. In his new position, Zac will lead the Foundation’s strategic direction and long-term vision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, purposeful programmes that support people and communities to reach their full potential.
Zac’s journey with the organisation began in 2013, following earlier voluntary work with Cardiff City Academy and the Football Club from 2011. Over the past 15 years, he has grown alongside the Community Foundation, developing a deep understanding of the complexity and value of its work, while contributing significantly to its programmes in health, education and community outreach throughout South Wales.
Through close collaboration with colleagues, partners, and supporters, Zac has developed a strong sense of purpose rooted in lived experience and the communities the Community Foundation serves. Deeply connected to the charity’s mission, he is motivated to drive meaningful, sustainable change while building a positive and ambitious culture that colleagues, partners, and communities can be proud of.
Zac will lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers delivering impactful programmes across South Wales, supporting thousands of children, young people, and adults each year.
Andrew Diplock, Chair of Trustees at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, said:
“We are delighted to confirm Zac Lyndon-Jones as Chief Executive Officer as we enter our next chapter. Over the past year, Zac has served as Interim Director, during which time he successfully guided the organisation through a period of transition, demonstrating integrity, resilience and a strong commitment to our mission.
The Board looks forward to seeing the Community Foundation continue to grow and thrive under his leadership, remaining a vital and trusted presence within our communities.”
Zac Lyndon-Jones shared:
“I feel both honoured and excited to take on this role permanently and to continue working alongside our trustees, staff, and volunteers to build on the Community Foundation’s strong legacy of positive change.
I want my journey to reflect what is possible — that a young person, once me, standing on the Bob Bank terraces at Ninian Park, can aspire to become anything they choose. That belief sits at the heart of the direction I want to take the Community Foundation.
I am firmly committed to strengthening our social impact across communities, supporting our staff and volunteers to thrive and growing a network of supporters and partners who share our ambition to create lasting change.
