Cardiff City FC Community Foundation is giving applicants and prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the University courses we have to offer at our Degree Insight Day on Tuesday 15th July at Cardiff City House of Sport.
Taking place from 10AM - 2PM, the event will allow attendees meet our dedicated lecturers, participate in an interactive workshop and hear firsthand from current students.
We will also be providing support with DBS applications required for the course.

When studying the Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching & Development, you can expect a comprehensive and engaging programme that equips you with the skills and knowledge to excel in the football industry. The course covers vital aspects of children’s and youth coaching, football development, social inclusion, and sports management, preparing you for a wide range of career paths.
You’ll also have the opportunity to achieve the FA Level 1 and 2 Awards in Coaching Football, enhancing your credentials and practical expertise. This dynamic blend of academic study and hands-on experience ensures you’re well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities in football coaching and beyond
Duration: 2 years (Third year top-up available)
Study mode: Full-time
On this degree you will have the opportunity to develop specific business specialisms, which can be applied to the sport industry, such as marketing, event planning, finance/accounting and human resource management. You will spend a minimum of five days per year at the University of South Wales High Performance Centre at the USW Sport Park and receive full accommodation during these Residential Visits.
A key part of this degree is the increased amount of placement hours you will experience. You will undertake 4-8 hours per week in year 1 and 7-14 hours per week in years 2 and 3. These experiences will mainly be working within the remit of Cardiff City FC and will give you practical experience of working within the sports business and management industry.

Our degrees provide the opportunity to study in the workplace of a professional organisation in this sector, thus enhancing your employment opportunities. Working closely with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation and Cardiff City FC Academy staff, students will develop essential skills in real-world environments. You may also get a wider experience through opportunities via Cardiff City FC's sponsors and partners.
