Cardiff City FC Community Foundation is inviting Sixth Form and College students to explore our degree programmes at a Open Evening on Thursday 11th December at Cardiff City House of Sport.
Running from 5.30-7pm, the event offers the chance to meet our expert lecturers, take part in interactive workshops, and learn about industry placements with Cardiff City FC and the club’s official charity.
What to expect:
When studying this degree, you can expect a comprehensive and engaging programme that equips you with the skills and knowledge to excel in the football industry. The course covers vital aspects of children’s and youth coaching, football development, social inclusion, and sports management, preparing you for a wide range of career paths.
Alongside the academic element of the course, students will complete 140 hours of placement activity within the community, working with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation and Cardiff City FC Academy staff.
This course allows you to study for a third year to achieve a full Bachelor level qualification.
Duration: 2 years (Third year top-up available)
Study mode: Full-time
On this degree, you’ll have the opportunity to develop specific business specialisms, which can be applied to the sport industry, such as marketing, event planning, finance/accounting and human resource management.
You’re also assigned a Cardiff City FC Foundation Mentor who facilitates your learning and supports the organisation of your weekly placement.
A key part of this degree is the increased amount of placement hours you will experience. You will undertake 4-8 hours per week in year 1 and 7-14 hours per week in years 2 and 3. These experiences will mainly be working within the remit of Cardiff City FC and will give you practical experience of working within the sports business and management industry.
You may also get a wider experience through opportunities via Cardiff City FC's sponsors and partners.

At the Open Evening, we'll also cover topics such as fees and funding, kit and UCAS support.
We will also be providing support with DBS applications required for the course. To complete your DBS check on the day, it’s essential you bring the correct identification documents.
