Cardiff City First Team stars Perry Ng, Ryan Wintle, Eliza Collie and Phoebie Poole joined Cardiff City FC Community Foundation as we celebrate the Premier League Supports Communities and Wider Football campaign.
As part of the initiative, each Club Community Organisation has been asked to nominate an individual to be awarded the 'One of our Own' award, an award that recognises the exceptional commitment and a long-term commitment to our communities.
Perry, Ryan, Eliza and Phoebie joined us at City super fan and Premier League Primary Stars participant Sienna's primary school to surprise her with the award.
Following the Bluebirds home and away, Sienna spends her free time watching City's Men's and Women's first teams, as well as Academy fixtures when she can.
Speaking at the visit, Wintle said:
"She's really happy and it makes us really happy when we see that kind of reaction. Sienna travels up to Middlesbrough on a Tuesday nights and stuff like that which we respect and we're really thankful for. She deserves it 100% - it's nice to be able to repay her like that."
Jamie, Sienna's Dad said:
"Sienna's confidence has just gone through the roof, socially as well. Her numeracy and literacy has come on leaps and bounds using the players names, the reading aspect and then the reading of the player's squad numbers too. It's [Premier League Primary Stars] helped her massively."
The Premier League Supports Communities and Wider Football campaign is running from 1st - 9th April and highlights the impact that the Premier League's investment has had in our communities.
This year, the Premier League has invested over £500,000 in our work to support primary, secondary and youth outreach initiatives across Cardiff City Communities.
