Sport Taster Day: Study with us!
Explore life as a Cardiff City student! Cardiff City FC's Official Charity is giving young people aged 16–19 the chance to experience their BTEC & NCFE Sport courses firsthand at our Taster Day on Tuesday 4th Aug.
On Friday 28th March, we gathered at Cardiff City Stadium to host our Annual Impact Celebration Event. This special event was an opportunity to reflect on another year of meaningful impact, as we continue our journey to Change Lives and Transform Communities.
The event coincides with the launch of our 2023-24 Impact Report, showcasing the breadth of our work and the partnerships that make it possible - generating an incredible £33.4 million in social impact.
Hosted by Alex and Buli—two of our Sport Business and Management degree students—the event shared powerful stories from people who have experienced the Foundation’s work first-hand. Their stories highlighted the powerful role football plays in creating opportunities, building a sense of belonging, and developing resilience in communities across South Wales.
From empowering women through a tailored FIT Bluebirds sessions at Chapter Arts Centre to providing young people with safer spaces through our partnership with South Wales Police and Noddfa Youth Project in Maesteg, every initiative told a story of positive change through local spaces in our community.
None of this would be possible without our incredible charity partners, funders, supporters, and delivery partners. Their support has helped us reach more people and make a lasting impact, both on and off the pitch. We can’t thank them enough.
Gavin Hawkey, Director, Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, reflected:
“Our Annual Impact Celebration was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together. The support of Cardiff City Football Club, along with our partners across South Wales, plays a vital role in helping us change lives and transform communities. The progress we’ve made reflects the strength of these relationships, from service users to staff, funders to delivery partners, it’s a shared effort. Football is the vehicle, but it’s people and partnerships that drive lasting impact. We’re proud of what we've achieved and excited about what’s next”
Ken Choo, Cardiff City FC Executive Director & CEO, said:
“Our Community Foundation is a key pillar of Cardiff City Football Club’s work. It never fails to impress me when I see these reports on delivery and the tangible results they bring to our local communities.
“Year on year we see growth in investment, results and perhaps most importantly, impact. The latest annual increase in social impact value is staggering and I’m absolutely delighted to see it.”
As we look ahead, we invite everyone to be part of our mission. Together, we’re changing the game.
CHANGING LIVES, TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES.
We're proud that our club changes lives, which would not be possible without the support of our funding providers, supporters, and partners. With your help, can make an extraordinary impact on our work to change lives and transform communities across South Wales.
