SAVE THE DATE: Community Foundation Futsal Trials
We’re hosting trials for the Community Foundation’s futsal squad at Ocean Park Arena, giving young people in Years 11–13 the opportunity to study while representing Cardiff City FC.
To celebrate World Book Day 2023, our coaches have been out and about donating books to our Premier League Primary Stars schools.
Thanks to a donation of over 150 books from the National Literacy Trust, we’re creating a passion for reading and inspiring learning amongst primary school children.
Over the course of the week, we’ve distributed books to several primary schools including Ton Pentre Primary School in the South Wales Valleys.
Deputy Headteacher in Ton Pentre Primary School, Mr Roberts, said:
"A huge thank you to Cardiff City Football Club for celebrating World Book Day with us at Ton Pentre Junior School.
"The extremely kind donation to our Year 3 class has provided our pupils with enjoyable books that will help the children develop a love of reading."
The Foundation’s Early Years and Primary Education Coordinator, Luke Jenkins-Jones, said:
“On World Book Day it’s so important that we encourage children to pick up a book and hopefully create a passion for reading and learning.
“A huge thanks to the Premier League and National Literacy Trust for allowing us to do this and I'm sure hundreds of children will benefit from this initiative.”
