Grace Snell has excelled academically and emerged as a true Community Hero through her commitment to volunteering and community engagement.

Grace's story is one of resilience and passion for sports, which led her to Cardiff City FC Community Foundation. Struggling with mainstream education and having had a challenging experience engaging in her subjects, Grace found her calling in the world of sports and sought an alternative path to pursue her interests.

Grace Snell's journey with the Community Foundation began when she joined our BTEC Level 3 sport programme. Now in her second year of our Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development, Grace has not only excelled academically but has also emerged as a true Community Hero through her commitment to volunteering and community engagement.

Grace was referred to the Community Foundation by a football coach who recognised her potential alongside her passion for sports. With a desire to break away from the traditional educational pathway, Grace saw the Community Foundation as an opportunity to blend her love for football with academic pursuits.

Graces progression within the Community Foundation, advancing from BTEC Level 3 to the Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching, marked the beginning of a transformative journey. She not only improved academically but also actively engaged in volunteering throughout her time of study.

We celebrate not only Grace's individual achievements but also the positive impact of the Community Foundation on the lives of young individuals like Grace.

Grace's impact is particularly noteworthy in her role within our secondary education programme at St Cenydd Comprehensive School. Working closely with pupils, Grace has built a rapport and understanding by drawing on her personal experiences. She connects with young individuals facing similar challenges, providing them with a relatable role model who understands the struggles of mainstream education and the need for alternative learning approaches.

By leveraging her personal journey, she addresses issues related to mainstream school experiences, fostering a supportive environment for those who may feel marginalised. Grace's ability to empathize with pupils helps break down barriers, making her an effective mentor and motivator.

As well as her work at St Cenydd, Grace actively plays for Caerphilly Dragons Ladies Football and she serves as a multi-sport coach for Sport Caerphilly, extending her positive influence beyond the Community Foundation's programmes.

Grace's story embodies the Community Foundation’s vision for people in our communities to achieve their full potential. The Community Foundation continues to support individuals like Grace, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment through sports and education. The recognition of Grace as a Community Hero not only celebrates her individual achievements but also highlights the positive impact of the Community Foundation on the lives of young individuals like Grace.

Zackary and Grace both illustrate Cardiff City Community Foundation's vision to empower individuals, foster a sense of belonging, and create positive change within our communities.

Join us and the boys in blue this Saturday to applaud Zackary Cooke and Grace Snell for their efforts and commitment to changing lives and transforming communities!
