On Thursday 16th April, Cardiff City FC Community Foundation gathered at Cardiff City Stadium to host their Annual Impact Celebration Event. This special event was an opportunity to reflect on another year of meaningful impact, as they continue their journey to Change Lives and Transform Communities, across South Wales.
The celebration coincides with the launch of their 2024-25 Impact Report, showcasing the breadth of their work and how Cardiff City FC’s official charity are creating safe, inclusive spaces for children, young people, and families to thrive.
Hosted by Geraint Hardy, the voice behind the Bluebirds - the event shared powerful stories from people who have experienced the Community Foundation’s impact first-hand. Their stories highlighted the powerful role football plays in improving health and wellbeing, supporting learning and skills, building stronger communities, and the partners that make it all possible.
From Lee Griffiths’ search for a secure and welcoming place for his dad at the 1927 Club following a dementia diagnosis, to work with dedicated partners such as the University of South Wales, EFL in the Community and The Premier League Foundation to create inclusive, accessible environments for young people, every panelist shared a story of positive change in our communities.
Last season saw over 150,000 attendances across their programmes, underpinned by a place‑based approach that continues to respond directly to local needs through tailored support, ensuring opportunity remains within reach for all.
None of this would be possible without their incredible charity partners, funders, supporters, and delivery partners. Their support has helped Cardiff City FC Community Foundation reach more people and make a lasting impact, both on and off the pitch.
Zac Lyndon-Jones, Director at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, reflected:
“It’s the stories that resonate most, they show the real difference being made every day. I’m incredibly proud that, through the power of football and inspiration of Cardiff City Football Club, alongside our partners, we’re creating safe spaces where people feel supported and able to thrive, with a lasting impact on their lives.
If you’d like to join us in making more impact, helping more people, and changing the game - you could partner with us, refer someone, fundraise or spread the word. Together, we can make a difference that truly lasts a lifetime."

Chris Griffiths, whose Alzheimer’s diagnosis came as a devastating shock to his family, has always had football at the heart of his life. In partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and Sporting Memories, The 1927 Club offers someone like Chris a chance to reminiscence about classic matches in a warm, welcoming space at Cardiff City Stadium.
