Bluebirds
fan Jacob Lambert is going the extra mile—literally—to support the Cardiff City
FC Community Foundation. Jacob has committed to running 125 laps around Cardiff
City Stadium on the 1st September, a challenge that equates to over a full
marathon in distance.
This
event kicks off our 125k Fundraising campaign, celebrating Cardiff City
Football Club’s 125th Anniversary season.
Jacob,
a dedicated runner who took up the sport during the Covid-19 lockdown, has
previously completed several endurance challenges. Notably, he ran from
Pembroke to Cardiff—four marathons in four days—to raise funds for a mental
health charity. Earlier this year, Jacob undertook an even greater challenge:
running five ultramarathons in five days from Llandudno to Pentyrch, in memory
of his late grandfather, to support Dementia UK.
The
funds raised through this challenge will directly support the Community
Foundation, official charity of Cardiff City FC, to improve health &
wellbeing, support learning & skills, and build stronger communities,
including educational initiatives, community outreach work and social isolation
projects that inspire hope and a sense of belonging.

"What excites me most about this and supporting the Foundation is just the wide variety of people they help within the community, whether that be working with kids, working with those with dementia, supporting those in learning, the list goes on. The Community Foundation does some great work and I can’t wait to continue raising money and seeing what those funds can do. As much as I’m proud of what I’ve achieved this far, it feels great knowing this will support people within my own community.’
Working together, the club and our communities can achieve great things.
