On Sunday 12th May, a group of Cardiff City supporters took on an exhilarating challenge by abseiling down the iconic Cardiff City Stadium. This event, designed for the most dedicated City fans, aimed to raise essential funds to support our mission of Changing Lives and Transforming Cardiff City Communities.
A huge thank you to everyone who signed up to represent us, we’re so grateful for your support.
Our participants collectively raised an impressive £6,400, which will go towards addressing inequalities in health and education, and to build stronger communities.

Bethany, an experienced fundraiser for the Community Foundation
Bethany, a seasoned fundraiser for the Community Foundation, having taken part in Barry Island 10k, Cardiff Bay 10k, Cardiff Half Marathon, also descended down the side of the stadium.
"I discovered the Community Foundation through posters around the ground and email newsletters highlighting their impactful work, which truly resonated with me. Knowing that the official charity of Cardiff City FC supports local children and young people by offering sports and development opportunities is incredible and something I felt compelled to support.
I really encourage others to take on challenges for the Foundation, helping to provide life-changing opportunities for young and underprivileged individuals in our community, enabling more people to reach their potential."

A combined Contractor and Client Group from Willis Construction and Cadwyn Housing Association also teamed up to brave abseiling down CCFC Stadium.
Emma Lewis, Business Development manager at Willis Construction said:
"Willis feel that we are aligned with Cardiff City Community Foundation in terms of our values and what we strive to achieve in our communities. As a contractor building affordable homes in South Wales, we aim to leave a positive legacy in the areas we construct. The families, young people and children who live in these homes deserve to reach their potential and we support this in any way we can, whether that be employment or education opportunities or our social values activities.
We would recommend others taking on another challenge for the Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, and together with Cadwyn, we look forward to developing a strong relationship with the foundation to support the important work it does."

Celebrating EFL Week of Action 2024
While Managers, First Team and Academy players actively support their Club's community activities all year round, the Week of Action sees them collectively come together in 72 towns and cities across England and Wales over the five-day period, meeting participants and engaging in some of the most innovative projects that are improving the quality of people's lives.

The report, analysing data from 2022/23 and 2023/24 and launched as part of the EFL’s annual Week of Action (18 – 22 November), celebrates the collective impact of Club community work across the EFL.
Schools Get Chance to Represent Cardiff City FC In Utilita Kids and Girls Cup
Schools and children within the Cardiff City region, will have the opportunity to represent Cardiff City FC Community Foundation and potentially play on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium thanks to the Utilita Kids and Girls Cup.
