Cardiff City FC Foundation works with many young people who unfortunately come from disadvantaged backgrounds with underprivileged upbringings. Through its “Strikers” programme, The Foundation plays a key role in tackling child poverty, developing important life skills and raising young people’s aspirations for the future.
Recently, Roman Fedak and Daniel Mace, both aged 17, successfully progressed onto higher education with The Foundation having successfully enrolled on to a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Futsal.
Both Roman and Daniel have gained a BTEC Level 1 in Sport and Active Leisure during their five-month involvement with the programme.
The “Strikers Engagement” and “Strikers Level 1” courses are both continuously rolling, with sessions taking place at Cardiff City Stadium, three or five times per week respectively.
With thanks to the Welsh Government, participants receive direct funding, plus financial assistance with travel expenses.
In conjunction with the academic qualifications on offer, The Foundation offers many enrichment opportunities and workshops, including laser tag, indoor climbing and white water rafting.
