Over fifty runners put on the Cardiff City FC Foundation running vest to join the thousands that took to the streets of Cardiff on Saturday 26th March, braving the wet and windy conditions.
The wind and rain didn’t stop our runners from crossing the finish line, nor did it stop spectators from taking to the streets to show support in their masses.
In the men’s professional race Britain’s Mo Farah won a Bronze medal with a time of 59:58, whilst Welshman Dewi Griffiths achieved a personal best of 1:04.10 and fulfilled his goal of placing in the top 3 GB finishers, taking 27th place overall.
Foundation runners were made up of staff, students, participants, volunteers, parents, supporters and partners all fundraising and putting their bodies on the line to help continue and develop our many projects across South Wales.
In October 2015, sixteen runners represented the Foundation during the Cardiff Half Marathon, raising money for our disability and inclusion projects; five months later the number of runners tripled.
The support and recognition gained is testament to the hard work and continued effort by everyone involved at the Foundation and Cardiff City FC.
A huge thank you to all our brave runners and donors, your support will help change lives in communities across South Wales through the power of sport.
