October 6th 2014, saw the Cardiff and Vale College Annual Awards return to the iconic Wales Millennium Centre.
Around 500 guests filled the Donald Gordon Theatre Stage for an evening of dining and networking prior to the main awards ceremony as hosted by the BBC’s Jason Mohammed.
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation were fortunate to be in attendance with the honor of sponsoring the “Sport and Public Service Award”, which was presented to student-athlete Angel Romaeo.
Angel received the award in recognition of her exceptional hard work and dedication towards her academic studies whilst also training intensely for a gymnastics career. It seems Angel has discovered the perfect balance between both interests after competing in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and winning a bronze medal for Team Wales.
Presenting Angel with her award on the evening was the Foundation’s Education Manager and fellow Commonwealth Games competitor, Ria Male who described the occasion as a “fantastic celebration to honorably acknowledge the hard work of CAVC, that ultimately produces these outstanding students whom also stand as a testament to the welsh education system.”
Cardiff City Community Foundation also extends their gratitude to Cardiff and Vale Colleges for their partnership in delivering its Education and Sport Programme.
