Education & Sport Open Evening

Cardiff City FC Foundation’s Education department is hosting an open Evening in November for its BTEC Level 3 programme. The open evening will take place at Cardiff City House of Sport on:

 

Friday 11th November, 6-8pm

Futsal 

Futsal is an exciting, fast paced small sided football game, the game places large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a side format of the game.

 

Duration:  2 Years

Study mode:  Full-time

Entry Requirements:  Minimum 4 GCSE’s  A* – C (C or above in Maths & English Highly Desirable)

Qualification:  BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance & Excellence) (3 A Level Equivalent)

 

Learners will work towards completion of a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence), which is a 3 A Level equivalent qualification. Many units involved in BTEC qualification will be completed during the practical sessions that involves up to 5 hours of weekly training sessions.

 

Futsal learners will represent Cardiff City Football Club in the Futsal National Youth League, playing weekly fixtures against other professional clubs in the Bluebirds jersey, as well as competing in the Soccer AM Cup, with highlights shown on Sky Sports.

 

 

Football Performance Centres

Building upon the existing Futsal & Education model, the Football Performance Centres (FPC) is a full-time programme that allow participants to train, compete and develop aspects of their 11-a-side game whilst working towards widely recognised qualifications at their school or college site.

 

FPCs operate in King Henry VIII School, Monmouth, Croesyceiliog Comprehensive School, Torfaen and Aberdare Community School.

 

Duration:  2 Years

Study mode:  Full-time
