Cardiff City Women celebrated the highs of their 2014/15 season in the Women’s Welsh Premier League on Saturday evening at their annual Awards Celebration.
Cardiff City Women, in its first season under new Manager Joel Hutton, finished 4th in the Women’s Welsh Premier League and narrowly missed out to The Swans in the final of the FAW Women’s Cup.
The awards evening that was held at Cardiff City Stadium honored the successes of both the Development and Senior Teams, with both team managers and coaching staff taking to the stage to thank both the players and those in attendance for their continued support. Chairman, Mike Thomas also shared a few words, whilst First Team Manager, Russell Slade was present to hand out the winners’ awards.
Although Bluebirds Forward, Lisa Bird took the award for Top Goalscorer after tallying up an impressive thirty goals in all competitions, it was down to the attendees on the evening to vote for the Goal of the Season accolade from a montage of eight nominations. It was Shannon Evans who won for her free kick against Aberystwyth Town Ladies.
